Reporting Question - Invoices & COGS

SOLVED

I am looking to see if this is possible on the built in reporting, or if it possibly is something that Intelligence Reporting offers ( which we do not have )- Run a report of invoices, with a column with the COGS for each invoice line. The invoice register report. Right now, the only way I can see doing this is running one of each report; invoice register and then cost of goods sold journal and combining them.

You can do this if you simply use job costing.    You would use the job costing ID when purchasing non stock items and when invoicing.  You could then run your report to see the profit.

You could also include the cost of labor.  If you don't have Quantum and you would like a demo, please feel free to reach out. I can set up a GoToMeeting and show you.

You can also use Premium but it does not have the Job management page.

Oh and you do have Business Intelligence.  It comes with every purchase of Sage 50  Go to your customer portal and find your activation number.  Business intelligence reports must be written either by you our you must commission someone to write them.

Try the Items Sold To Customers report and change the Sort By setting to Customer ID instead of "Customer ID, Item ID". It will show the sales, COGS, and gross profit for each invoice line but for some reason doesn't show the item ID or description.

If that doesn't work for you, it can definitely be done using Intelligence Reporting. You can contact me for a quote on a custom report at 918-851-9713.
