Now Available! Sage 50ꟷU.S. Edition Release 2023.0

We’re excited to announce that the latest edition of Sage 50ꟷU.S. Edition 2023.0 is now available!

You’ll notice a new logo, program icon, and a new color palette to emphasize the brilliant green, black and white. Our refreshed Sage identity’s focus is on simplicity and insight signifying how we have supported customers like you for the past 40 years.

Security is a top concern for Sage, and we regularly update our best practices and review methodologies to help identify any vulnerabilities with Sage 50. We have performed numerous health checks on areas identified as a potential security threat. Once these threats have been addressed, we will always recommend that you upgrade to the most current version of Sage 50, so you can benefit from the most secure version.

With this release, you will be able to add new options to your existing product, access your 1099/1096 forms via Aatrix, see new icons, and receive critical security enhancements. See below for further information.

Actian Zen v15.1 Database

We’ve updated the Sage 50 database to Actian Zen v15.1 to keep your business supported and running smoothly. Earlier versions of the Actian Zen database engine are now out-of-date and unsupported, which can introduce new risks and interrupt your daily business activities.

Field help has a new look

Get clarity on tasks in your Sage 50 solution with collapsible field help. In various windows, slide open the new “Field help” to see how each field is defined and view examples in a simplified format.

With modernization and familiarity in mind, Sage 50 Help now runs with your preferred browser in a search-engine-friendly format. You can also benefit by bookmarking articles you would like to reference later or by sharing information with others through social sharing options.

Need quick access to support? You can also add a shortcut to support resources on your desktop when installing. No more wondering if you are in the right place. It’s the real Sage.

Changes to eFiling and payroll via Aatrix

  • Available now: efile via Aatrix: Looking only to efile? You can now add efiling to your plan so you can access Aatrix within Sage 50 Accounting and efile 1099/1096 tax forms without having to navigate outside the product itself.
  • 1099 forms: Sage is committed to keeping up with regulations to deliver the right solutions at the right time. All customers with an active plan can now access 1099/1096 tax forms via Aatrix to remain compliant with the newest updates. See the table below for changes and how this applies to you:

To optimize Sage 50, we have discontinued the following:

  • Internet Explorer: We have removed any program dependencies to ensure you are operating in a more secure environment. It is recommended you use a supported browser when handling sensitive information.
  • Sage Intelligence Reporting Desktop: Sage has retired and no longer supports Sage Intelligence Reporting Desktop. Visit this Sage City post for more information.

In case you missed it

  • Important reminder: Effective March 1, 2023, support will end for Sage 50—U.S. Edition 2022 to keep you in compliance with the latest technology and operating systems. So, be sure to upgrade to the 2023.0 release now! Visit FAQ – Sage 50 US Obsolescence for more information.
  • Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol: The following only applies to you if you are using Sage 50 release 2020.1 and earlier. To ensure you are using the most current TLS protocol recommended by third-party standards organizations to provide end-to-end security of your data, you are no longer able to install and reactivate release 2020.1 or earlier effective September 30, 2022.
