Anyone have Sage 500 customers using Microsoft Azure to host their product? If so, how is it going?
Hi DLN. I did an experiment back in 2015 (See article "Successful Experiment to Run Sage 500 database from Windows Azure Virtual Machine") where I set up a SQL Virtual Machine and installed the Sage 500 database and utilities to it and connected to a local client. I passed this information onto Sage asking them to take it further and list it as a supported configuration. However, they haven't done so to date as far as I know, so I would not recommend doing this on your own as Sage may not provide support if you run into any issues.
There are a couple of articles on the Ideas page asking for this you can vote for. As Azure has improved since I did my experiment, I don't see why Sage wouldn't look into supporting this type of configuration as this is what a lot of companies are looking at to keep hardware costs down.
