Creating a Test Environment

I need to create a test environment basing it off our current version of Sage 500 ERP. Where can I find instructions on doing so? I simply need to install a TEST copy of our production, applying the updates to the TEST to verify that nothing will break before upgrading our production.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

The procedure should be in KB, but backup and restore the database under a different name or to a different server, run Database Synchronization, don't reset users on same server, register the database as test (or do this when you logon). You will need to install the updated client on a separate machine, not one currently in production since the client install will overwrite current version.

If you are upgrading to a new version, not just applying an update, there is a LOT more to do than just a quick verification.
