Financial Statements fails to open in MS Office 2019 Pro Plus

SOLVED

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know a solution to this error when running G/L Financial Reporter to Print Financial Statements? We are using Sage 300 2022 and 32-bit MS Office 2019 Pro Plus on 64-bit Windows 10 Pro. I've enabled all macros and did a repair install to Office as well as repair to my Sage workstation setup. I'm not well versed in Sage yet, still learning but I'm not sure what else to do in this case. I'll try any suggestions anyone may have. Thank you so much for your time.

We had the same problem with Sage 300 2022 workstation setup with Office 2091 Pro on a RDP server. We tried the following:

1.Uninstall Office & Sage ws, scrub Office and reinstall. Didn't help.

    Sage Australia support suggested:

    2. the usual Excel macro and addin settings suggested elsewhere. Didn't help.

    3. Install PU1 before PU2. Should not be necessary. Didn't help. (If PU2 requires PU1 installed first, why doesn't the Update Notice say so?)

    4. After all that, Sage finally said FR on RDP server needs full Sage install instead of workstation. We never needed that before. If true, why isn't that documented?.  We didn't bother trying it due to the cost and maintenance risks and lack of guaranteed result, and just installed Sage ws and office 32-bit on a separate Windows 10 VM for the FR user instead.

It is documented and has been since v2019.  As of February 2019 Sage updated the Compatibility guide to include the following:

"The full Sage 300 System Manager and programs need to be installed on the Citrix/Terminal Servers"
