Sage 300 2017 Intercompany Transactions Module

SOLVED

Hi

Currently we are using Sage 300 2017 for AP,AR & GL for almost 3 years now. As for the Intercompany Transactions Module 6.4A already installed but not yet activate..
I have tried to activate by the below message pop up.. all batches already posted and no more open batch and still cannot activate.

Is it meaning need to reset all batches number to Zero? need to clear history? or What are the steps i need to do before activate?
Any advise or any guideline to setup this module?

thanks for the reply. the User's Guide only mentioned the GL database need to setup before activation which the database already setup and using now. Any other solution? The messages looks more like related to database table..how should I fix it?

Thanks and appreciate very much for your reply ettiennes.

Yes I do have few questions on the setup of ICT with my existing database, as I am not familiar with ICT module. Maybe u can advice.

    (1) from what I understand from the forum.. i can't activate ICT in my existing database, so only can activate it in a dummy database to run the function... right?

    (2) currently we are having about 40 database related to interbranches and associated companies accounts, and there are transactions flow within all these database, that is why we need the ICT module. How should I set up this ICT for all these 40 database? Is it all these transactions can be done in one dummy database with ICT?

I m sure ICT features can helps in those inter companies transactions, but just that I m not sure how the setup should be done. Please adivce. Thanks.

Contact your local Sage consultant.  Setting up ICT is not free, you need expertise.

You cannot activate ICT in an existing company database that has transactions, it has to be in a new empty database.
Create a new database in Sage 300 and name it ICT (keep it simple). Activate GL and AP (if you want to do ICT in AP) and the other required modules (bank, taxes), and activate ICT.
The ICT module allows you to interact with all 40 companies, provided that they all have the same system database - the biggest mistake I run into is that people create a separate system database for each company for some strange reason.
Then complete the setup in ICT, follow the documentation - it's too much to explain in a post.
I'm available to consult on this, I was on the development team that created the ICT product.

WOW... WOW... WOW... same system database ... Face palm

Yes you are right, currently all our database is running by it individual system database...haha..

I have already created a new database for ICT, no wonder i couldn't get the database ID for setup. So this is the major reason...

So from now I will need to tidy up the system database first then go step by step on the ICT setup accordingly. Will try to refer back to the User's Guide.

I m glad and lucky that you explained and replied on my queries .. Many thanks Ettiennes for the advice. I am sure will come back to you on others ICT issues. Sunglasses
