_C.ISM, _P.ISM and WSP files

SOLVED

A customer reported that after they deleted the _P and .WSP files for a user, that user no longer had his customizations and couldn't print to PrintBoss.

I don't understand why that would be true since PrintBoss is just a printer. I figured it would be added when the user went into Sage for the first time after _P was deleted.

_C stores customizations like new report icons, right?

_P stores printers

I don't have a clue what .WSP stores.

Any thoughts (besides restore from backup and rename instead of delete next time)?

_C is customizations.  _P is finders and save printer setting.  I don't know what WSP is.  It has no effect on Printboss except the default printer might go back to APCHK01.RPT, and they just have to pick APCKPB1.RPT again.

The custom form "whatever_printboss_calls_it.rpt"  had been reset to the default. When I think about finders, I don't usually think about that part of it, just the search-by function.

The .wsp file keeps track of where you left off (what Sage menu is open, and which icon you were on) as well as the View you choose:  Large icons, Small icons, List, or Details.  I learned this because one of my clients prefers List view, where you can display multiple rows of menu choices, rather than Details where you have to scroll down to find items below the window length.  She was surprised - and so was I - that List is no longer available in Version 2020 and above.  Trial and error told me this was governed by the .wsp file, so we just restored an old .wsp for her which works fine, even though the new View menu only allows "Icons" or "Details".
