There's no such thing as a "repost". Ask your GL manager to check their work, or give you more details. Maybe you just need to go to Payroll Periodic Processing/Create GL Batch, which was a step you missed. FWIW, your Payroll setup should be to create and post GL batches automatically.
I was told by the GL that "payroll has a batch of unposted transactions - can you please run a post"
With that said, can I post the one item he needs posted?
I don't know what he means by "run a post", that's not a regular Sage 300 terminology. If there are open UP batches on the GL Batch List, then he can post them himself. If he's missing them completely, then you need to run Periodic Processing/Create GL batch. Most importantly, you should set it up as shown below, then you won't be bothered with this any more.
