AR reconciliation (subledger to general ledger)

SOLVED

Hello everyone,

I am new to Accpac. Can anyone how we usually reconcile AR from Sub-ledger to General Ledger?

I mean where two places to run the report to check the amt for sub-ledger and General ledger and compare these two to see what is missing in General ledger.

Many thanks in advance!

This solution applies to most versions of most software, and to Sage 300, and Ptree 50, too.

Post all o/s AR transaction to AR, and to GL.

Then run the [AR TB], and the [GL TB for the AR control account] at the END of the furthest period open in your system. If reports agree here AND agree at current period, then no problem.

If a difference in totals, run both reports for EACH period back until no difference; note each difference, or a change in the difference.
[If many periods involved, skip by 6 periods, until localize those periods of error.]

** Problems will be found in each period where the difference in totals changes. **
Diff s/be 0 at all times that all trans are posted.

If you need more help than this, you need a competent consultant to either fix directly, or to train you on how to do it.
I've even written out instructions for my clients.

Glad you noticed the problem, as many users do not even know there is a problem until their auditors scream!
Those without auditors might blindly report incorrect financials for years.
    Good luck.
