how many hours are involved in upgrading from sage 100 2017 to sage 2022? we have a pretty basic set up with maybe 3 custom reports, installed on 6 computers and 1 ob connection.
I have done two (2) upgrades recently and did both on a Saturday, about six (6) hours. Not hard at all. There are always little glitches that delay things or pop up the next day.
There are a lot of considerations you didn't mention. (I have no idea what you mean by "ob connection").
Upgrades can be anywhere from 10-50 hours work just to go Live (...plus time for workstation installs and after upgrade support...), for someone who doesn't need to learn the process. For a novice, add time to read through all the documentation, and time for a learning curve (since a number of things a Partner does as best practices will not be in the Sage documentation).
I'm guessing that is just the upgrade day processing time... not including preparation work / system analysis / planning.
not sure what you mean by standard/ advanced/ premium.
we have multibin by scanco and credit card processing
no crm
we have about 3 custome crystal reports
i doubt we have big data
no on use of custom office.
we have been using Mas 90/sage 100 for almost 20 years.
Payroll?
yes about 10 employees.
Then the PR upgrade portion will be your biggest headache. v2017 is the old version, and upgrading involves a significant effort to get that converted. Absolutely get your Sage Partner involved (i.e. someone who has experience with the PR 2.0 upgrade process). Do not attempt on your own. Seriously.
We have had difficulties working with ScanCo in the past, so that may add time. The custom reports should convert quickly, unless they are for a module converting to Framework during the upgrade (which is the case for your PR)... requiring redevelopment from scratch.
MAS90 is the old name for Sage 100 Standard, which I am guessing you have. New server (vs. same server) for Standard is not a big deal. Advanced / Premium are the client-server versions (Premium using a SQL back end).
If you get a quote for 20hrs, jump on it. I'd estimate significantly more.
They were basic systems with no enhancements. Long time users. They handled the work station setup as I did the install and data conversion. We flew through it. But as you know, there is always something.
With Payroll, Credit Card Processing and Scanco you are adding a lot to the time as there is a set step-by-step on installing each and which is installed first, second and third. This all adds time, planning and cost.
Yes, I should have mentioned CC processing. If it's a third party processor that can really add time too (especially Repay, with their recent license changes).
