Excel File using ODBC created by one user. 2nd user gets error when trying to update

User 1 created an excel file that pulls in data from Sage 100 Standard via ODBC.

Created same dsn connection (same dsn name) on User 2's computer. "Test Connection" successful with saved username/pw.

User 2 opens the same excel file and tried to refresh/reload the data, but it asks for authentication (Sage 100 Database Signon screen appears...).

What might be the problem? Shouldn't this work?

Usually this means that something in the silent DSN is not correct. Go into the silent DSN and test and see what response you get. Try using the DSN with another application such as Crystal and see what happens.

Check the query inside Excel. The connection string probably has something wrong in it.
