Using General Ledger Exchange

SUGGESTED

I have gone through the set up wizard for the General Ledger Exchange to import a journal entry from a CSV vile and got all of the way through to the GL Exchange window to import the file.  When I click on the Proceed file I get an error that says, "Source file cannot be opened. Retry?".  When I retry I get the same error.  I have looked at the source file and cannot see anything obvious.  Can any one else help?

You have to close the csv file before you execute the exchange import.

    Subject:

"Source file cannot be opened" when importing into General Ledger through General Ledger Exchange.

    Possible Resolution:

Path to the source file needs to be relative to the server's view for MAS 200.

The Sage MAS 200 Application Server is running as a service with a user account that cannot see the file. This is normally caused when the LocalSystem (System) account is used for the host service. To resolve, change the logon for the Sage MAS 200 Application Server service to a domain account.

A domain account must be used because the Application Server opens an ODBC connection when running General Ledger Exchange that executes a UNC path to the ..\Mas90\ folder. By definition, the built-in Windows LocalSystem (System) account cannot execute UNC path or mapped network drives.

    Notes:

•If a mapped drive is used for the ODBC path, it must be relative to the server. Test by copying the path into Start / Run at the server. The folder should open in Windows Explorer.

•There are other places within Sage MAS 200 where ODBC and UNC connections are opened directly at the server, including General Ledger Exchange.

Move the location of the csv file try from the desktop or a new folder called imports inside the MAS parent directory.
