Easy peasy, just sum the quantity field and place where you want in the report footer.

On the packing slip you would do the same thing. Sum the quantity field.

HI, It works great on the Sales order but when I but it on the Packing list and the Bill of lading it goes wonky I get a bad number.  the total is 1632 and that is what shows up on the SO but on the other two I get 3264. and it takes it to a second page (which I assume is a formatting issue that I can work on)

Try a running total instead.  Work table data is not what you think (especially with Lot / Serial lines are involved).

I went into the packing list form back clicked running total field in field explorer and picked new

Make the following changes to your running total.

change the middle section.   Evaluate "on change of field" and set the field to:  SO_PackingListWrk.LineSeqNo.
change the last section.        Reset "on change of group" and set the group to:  Group #1:  SO_PackingListWrk.InvoiceNo.
