I need to access Payroll data as well for a state certified payroll report 100 / Aatrix doesn't support. I was unable to see the data with DFD&M so ODBC doesn't look like an option. I'm approaching the issue with BOI as it has methods to deal with the encryption. Wish me luck.

Where do you begin with Business Objects?  Does that require special licensing?  Is there documentation avaiable to help navigate how to use it?

BOI is the COM/OLE interface to Sage 100 and is included with the package at no extra cost.

There is Business Object Interface training for Sage 100 available from Sage University.  The training will give you foundational knowledge on how BOI works along with documentation and sample code.  Depending on your familiarity with Sage 100 you may also want to look at the Data File training class to learn the Sage 100 file structures and how the files work together.

BOI does not require any special license.

My first pass at using BOI to get PR_Employee data returns nothing. Any clues to make this work?

Aside from the normal conditions (Allow External Access), PII needs a special Role Permission:
