MP_04SuppliesAndDemands

We are upgrading to Sage 2021 from 2017. The  MP_04SuppliesAndDemands view has been retired from Sage 2021. However, my staff does not want to give up the (very robust) MRP tool we  developed in house. Consequently, I need to recreate it. Can someone provide me with the query(s) that were used to build this view?  Thank you!

  • This can not be possible. Are you saying the MP04_SuppliesAndDemands table is not available? That is the detail file of the whole MRP system. That is totally unacceptable. We also run our whole business based on this. This would not only be devastating it would be cause to look for another software platform. We moved to 2020 from 2016 last year, with the intent to upgrade to 2022 this summer. Looks like I need to download as soon as it is available to see what is missing. Thank you for the heads up.

  • To be fair to Sage, they replaced it with a new tool called Inventory Resource Planning (IRP). It seems to be a good replacement for MRP but it will take time for our staff to learn to use it. And, I don't know if they will eventually adopt it or not. In the mean time, I must keep the older tools working

You might be right that IRP is a good replacement, or depending on the features your staff has been using it may not be quite ready yet. Based on this exchange from over a year ago, my staff would be lost without these features:

    (3) Inventory Requirements Planning (IRP) Missing Features - Sage 100 Distribution, Manufacturing, and Internet Modules - Sage 100 - Sage City Community

  • Rick,

Did you find that file? I was just told by my reseller that MRP is still available in 2021 and 2022. Your post made me very nervous on Sunday.

We also have used MP_04 and MP_05 to make an online MRP that our purchasing staff use. Much better than paper. Losing that would be devastating with a planned, suitable replacement.

No, not in the Premium version. I'm told by my provider that those tables are available in Sage Advanced 2021 (Providex backend) but not in Sage Premium 2021 (SQL backend)- which is what we are upgrading to. I'm also told, those tables will not be available in any version of 2022.

I should also add that I spoke with Sage support and found out that MRP was designed by Scanco, as was the new IRP module. I am contacting Scanco now to see what information/assistance they can provide.

  • in reply to Rick Savoy

Exactly. We had been advised to stay with Advanced precisely because of the issue you are having. Your original post did not mention that you were moving to Premium. I should have asked.

MRP is NOT designed by Scanco.  Production Management and IRP versions 2019 - 2021 were designed by Scanco.

You might want to consider SQL mirroring.

  • After much research, I found that I didn't need MP_04SuppliesAndDemands to be completely recreated. I only needed about 6 fields which turned out to not be that difficult. We use a macro enabled Excel spreadsheet that incorporates all the logic need to create a full MRP dataset for our buyers. It pulls the data directly from the SQL database via a set of stored procedures. And, it's much, MUCH faster than IRP! (Using a spreadsheet gives them the ability to manipulate the data according to their needs.)
