Change password on initial sign on

Can there be a requirement for users to change the password after initial sign on?  The password can only be created by someone with access to User Maintenance and I know the user has the ability to change their own password after logging in, but there is no way (that I can find) that requires the user to change the password.  If the user doesn't change their password then the password is not secure.  Are there any plans to change this in future versions?
