Slow performance in Sage 100 Standard in VMware vSphere environment

Check the properties on the Sage icon on the workstations to see if it is using the Server name or the IP address.  I just worked with Support last week on this issue.  The workstations icons were using the IP address.  Once we changed them to the Server Name the system was back to normal.  It was taken 37 to 45 seconds just to open Sage up.  Then another 32 seconds to open Vendor Maintenance before the change!

I have done several things to make our Sage 100 system run faster.

• Add the port to the firewall.
• Change the registry setting for the service to allow more processes.
• In user maintenance, preferences tab, I had to turn on "spawn tasks from application server".

Good Try but no luck.  The hyperv host server is Microsoft Server 2019.  The os of the hosted VM on that box is also server 2019.

NO luck there.  The icons are pointed to a mapped drive.  Originally it was using as UNC.  There was no change in performance from either method.

It seems like you are referring to sage 100 advanced.  Ii am using standard. Or am I missing something.  Could you provide the specific settings you modify.

Yes this is Advanced.

Are you using a Windows domain?  Is there an authentication problem / delay?  Mapped drives with stored credentials going to sleep? 

Basically everything in Standard uses network authentication to access the data over the network, and each new screen being opened is a new connection.

Try to turn PEP off, if not already done.

I know this is old but just in case others experience this:  We were able to improve performance by excluding Sage 100 directory, programs and extensions related to Sage 100

Also, if you have 3rd party modifications, test the performance without those enhancements.  Fastest/easiest way to do this is to get everyone out of the system, then rename the ..\MAS90\LINKS folder temporarily, then open tasks again.  If you notice an improvement, then one of the modified programs is causing the problem.  MAKE SURE to rename the folder back.

To further troubleshoot, you might have to rename a group of those programs within the LINKS folder at a time, then test performance.  This might narrow it down.
