Now that you know how to install Workstation Setup, let us go through some issues that you may encounter.

Another version of this product is already installed

You will see this message when trying to run Sage 100 ERP 2014 Standard Workstation Setup while on a workstation that has Sage 100 ERP 2013 Standard installed. The reason why this error occurs is because both Sage 100 ERP 2013 and 2014 Standard uses the same registry key. There is a program fix for it that will resolve the issue.

“Unable to create a session object. The workstation may have been corrupted" when starting Sage 100 ERP

If you see this error, some causes could be you have some missing or unregistered workstation files, corrupt system files or damaged ProvideX dictionaries. KB 18982 Error: "Unable to create a session object. The workstation may have been corrupted" has more details as well as steps to resolve that involves re-installing Workstation Setup.

Crystal Reports

You might encounter an error while in Sage 100 ERP that states that you have the wrong version of Crystal Reports installed on your workstation. The workaround is to re-install Workstation Setup.

Another Crystal-related error you may encounter is Error 1327. You will see this error either during installation of Workstation setup or Crystal Reports XI R2. The cause is a user has changed the default paths for Windows folders like “My Documents”. To resolve the issue, open the Windows Registry and correct the paths in the following key:

HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders]

For example the default setting for the "My Documents" folder should be: %USERPROFILE%\My Documents.

64-bit ODBC Driver

People may run into difficulty when trying to install 64-bit ODBC driver when Sage 100 ERP 2013 Standard Workstation is installed. The workaround is to download the latest Sage 100 ERP 2013 Product Update.

  • @Bvulliamy  Creating a port for the paperless printer was in issue caused by the Amyuni driver installaion.  It would result in zero byte PDF's and hanging especially (if not exclusively) on 64bit versions of the Windows operating system.  It wasn't always necissary becuase the issue would happen if there was an existing 'null' port when the driver installed.  The most recent product updates for v2013 and v2014 include a more updated Amyuni driver and those issues should be resolved.

Amyuni Forum Post:  "Win7 x64 hangs - 0 byte file"

"...What is happening is our installer is case sensitive and is trying to create a port called “NUL: ” (upper case - Microsoft recommendation). The creation of the port is failing because the port is already on the system (“nul:” - lowercase ) and our installer is attaching the printer to LPT1."

  • Thank you for the article.  What about paperless office setup?  I was told to always change the Sage PDF printer port from default.

    Is that still the case?
