Duplicate Company Countries in Country Code Maintenance

I am seeing duplicate countries in my country list under country code maintenance. For example it will show the country "France" twice with the codes "FR" and "FRA". What is best practice in removing these two digit country codes from the country list? Will I need to change all customer's country codes, sales orders, and invoices with "FR" to the correct code "FRA"?

Before you do a cleanup, you may want to confirm you don't have 3rd party mods/custom programs that use these 2-character country codes.

By default, the country code table is loaded in Sage 100 with 3-character country codes - and linked 2-character Alternate country code - so in your image the 2nd France entry one is the original one as you indicated.

But that would mean that either some program created the 2-character country codes, they were imported intentionally or accidentally, or someone entered them manually.

This may depend on your version of Sage 100 but some 3rd party modifications previously expected 2-character country code values in Sage 100 (and now can use the Alternate Country Code) or others may still require 2-character country codes in Sage 100.  You are right to review this, as this can cause problems in Sage 100 with other integrations like with Sage CRM if these other 2-character country codes exist especially if linked to the same Alternate Country Code.
