Sage 100 BOI is a unique implementation of COM/OLE scripting. You also need a good understanding of the ProvideX framework used.

Unless you plan on doing a lot of scripting in the future I suggest tapping the experience of those that have made the journey.

Alnoor Cassim ( Alnoor_C / Alnoor ) occasionally runs a scripting class, and just did one this past weekend for the private 90-Minds group's yearly conference.  I highly recommend his class (if you can get in on one) which helped me tremendously.  (I took it back in 2015).

I agree, but I am trying to avoid just coming out and asking for a script for a certain situation (which I have done to many times I feel already).  I would like to understand the code as well.

jepritch posted a scripting guide which is really good at covering the basics.  I don't have a link handy, but I'm sure someone else here does.

Yes, I have that and often refer to it, but still get lost on some of the statements.

The Luke Skywalker of Sage 100, Alnoor is the best Sage 100 scripter I have ever seen and I have used it since Level 2.0.  His scripting classes are epic

You won't win yourself any fans with such inappropriate insults at a valued member of the Sage 100 community.

David is great at digging under the hood, but he never worked for Sage.  Alnoor did, and his classes are widely praised.  During his class, he kept mentioning lots of hints and tips in addition to the core subject matter, and you may not like this style of presentation, but to me that extra information is pure gold.

Hey Spikowski - I've never been on drugs and so kind of you to judge my entire body of work based on a single video that wasn't even my own. I don't know what I've ever said or done to you but you are consistently a troublemaker everywhere you've been. 99% of your comments on these Sage city forums are both needlessly negative about Sage 100 and how you love promoting ScriptBasic.

You shoot off your mouth all the time, sometimes being abusive, and show no professionalism in anything you say or post. I really wish the forum moderator would remove you just like you have been removed from so many other non-Sage forums and groups. 

Just so you know, the technical and other circumstances behind that video was completely beyond my control and made for a poor recording that I didn't want released at all. I even offered to completely re-record it myself and do necessary post-production edits but I was overruled. It wasn't my finest moment and unfortunately that's what you saw instead of my full body of work that represents 15 years of being a Sage employee, all the dev and consulting work since, and all the basic to intermediate level Scripting classes that have benefited the Sage community a ton.

I don't promote my own classes here on Sage City because I have to follow the rules and stay in my lane whereas you take free reign to promote ScriptBasic while bashing Sage 100.

Being who you are and have always been, I know you will start a flame war. Let's see if you're capable of being professional.
