Anyone using Time Track for Job Costing, but exporting the time track entries for outside payroll service to process payroll

Anyone using Time Track for Job Costing, but exporting the time track entries for outside payroll service to process payroll?

  • We don't export the entries per se but we do run the time track reports and use an outside third party for Payroll.

  • I have a client still using the OLD time card and exporting for processing payroll.

The employees are setup in payroll as normal with their wages so the correct information can be allocated to Job Cost.  They process the time through payroll to get the total hours and then update the payroll module.  Payroll is set not to post not post to GL but time does.  We have all taxes set to zero.  we did it this way because of the time card posting.

We then exported the updated payroll hours to the third party.

We did it that way because the time card posted differently.

I don't see why you couldn't do it with time track.

  • We have several customers doing this. We wrote a crystal report to do it but you can also use a VI export job.

  • I have an application that both exports time along with earnings and deductions to external payroll services and then posts back the results of the payroll into the sage Pay Records such that there is no reconciliation.  We also have a tool for importing time into Sage 100 contractor.

    Hi Max,

Please note that this forum is for Sage 100 (ERP).  Sage 100 Contractor is a separate product and the forum for that software can be located at the following link: https://www.sagecity.com/us/sage_construction_and_real_estate/f/sage-100-contractor-general-discussion

    Thanks,

  • Hi HIA,

I am responding to your old post. Yes, We are currently using Time Track to get costs on our job and then summarize the hours to key into our outside payroll service. It is my understanding a csv file can be created to import into outside payroll service but we are not currently doing that yet. We use a time track report and key the hours into our payroll service.

As noted in previous response to my original posting, we deal primarily with Sage 100 Contractor and any questions about this belong on the corresponding thread. However we do have some tools that accept files from time collection systems, so some data validation and then import into Sage 100 contractor, but we could as easily format data for import into your payroll service as we have connections to 15 + payroll services.

You can give me a call at 707 861 8090 ext 701 and we can talk about your requirements.

    Hi Max,

My system is showing this to be a Sage 100 ERP thread which is what we are using. We do not use Contractor.

I understand that and indicated so in my previous reply. However Your problem has little to do with the accounting backend, rather my understanding of what you want is a way to take time collected in your time system and exported to a csv file and convert that date into a format that can then be imported into a payroll service. If this is the case we might be able to help as this is the kind of things my company does. If you would like to talk about it give me a call or send email directly
