Payroll Tax Update

We suddenly lost our bookkeeper last week and we are trying to make sure we have everything in place to finish out the year.  My question is do we install the payroll update when it prompts us to? Or do we wait until after the final payroll is run?  We are on payroll 2.21.0.0

    I tell my clients to always run the Payroll Tax update if prompted.  There are always little changes being made by states at the end of the year.

    I'm sorry for your loss.  In addition to tax table updates (which you should do when prompted) there are year end updates that will need to be installed for payroll and 1099s.  I would suggest getting with your Sage reseller and finding out what need to be installed specifically for you and for their assistance.  They are are updates and not upgrades so it should take about 30 minutes.

    Also keep an eye our for your State unemployment tax rate notice.  They come out this time of year and can be entered into Sage 100 as soon as you get them by using the effective date.
