Windows 10/11 ARM processor and pdf converter

Hope a community member can help here. I have a few machines that are running the ARM version of windows 11.

The sage pdf converter for paperless office does not include a arm version of the driver.

I have reached out to both sage and amyuni (the developer of the driver). Amyuni says that sage uses a developer version and they need to supply the arm version. Amyuni does have an arm version of their driver. I have tried to install it but sage uses their developer version with some enhancements. Sage seems to have no clue. And are requesting me to ask the community.

hoping someone has run across this problem and fixed it. Without this driver paperless office functions do not work. Or somehow can figure out this enhancement.

  • Hello David,

    Sage 100 is supported on Intel based chips. ARM has never been supported. That said, current versions of Sage 100 distribute 6.0x version of the Amyuni PDF Converter. If you downloaded a 6.5x version of the Amyuni driver that includes ARM support it will not work without a separate license key (purchase) from Amyuni.

    This is something we'll take a look at for a future release.

    John I have downloaded the new amyuni driver for arm. And even created a printer called Sage 100 PDF Converter. However when going to paperless office it opens a dialog box to save. And then errors out.

    Anything else I should try?

    Hi David, I don't have access to ARM based hardware, I have no way to validate this. What version of Sage 100 are you running? What is the error message you are receiving?

    Thanks

    This may be the answer. Although not one I like.

    Hello David,

    Unfortunately if you are looking for a free solution to replace the

    version of the Amyuni PDF Converter bundled with Sage, I do not have

    a solution for your issue. You may want to look at a fully licensed

    version of the  Amyuni PDF Converter Desktop version of our product

    which is supports ARM processors. This edition will not be

    incorporated into Sage but will work as a separate PDF printer driver.

    www.amyuni.com/.../learn

    -more Using a different version of the Amyuni PDF Converter will not

    work unless you have access to the Sage app source code and can

    re-compile Sage application.

    The Sage application installs a developer edition of our PDF

    Converter solution that can only be utilized within the Sage program.

    When you generate a PDF from within that application, it sends an

    activation code to the Amyuni PDF Converter programmatically,

    allowing you to print  or generate the PDF document. This activation

    code will only allow printing for that specific print job, and it

    will expire after the print job is completed.

    This activation code is compiled within the application and cannot be

    changed by the end-user. The activation code is only accessible to

    the developers of the Sage application. Also, the activation code is

    specific to the version of the PDF Converter that came bundled with the application.

    If you try to install a new or different version of the PDF Converter

    or try to change the licensing codes (ex: registry hack), the first

    time you try to print from the Sage, Sage will overwrite your

    licensing information with the licensing information compiled in the app.

    Unfortunately, it is not possible to integrate or replace Sage 's

    Amyuni printer.

    David,

    "If you downloaded a 6.5x version of the Amyuni driver that includes ARM support it will not work without a separate license key (purchase) from Amyuni"

    If you are trying to run a trial or unlicensed version of the Amyuni driver as the paperless driver in Sage 100 - it will not work.

    If you own a separate license key, it can be passed to the driver, otherwise the Sage license key is passed. Using an ARM chip is not supported and I have no way to validate a purchased license key on an ARM processor.

    I will purchase a seat and see if this works.

  • in reply to David Carnick

    So I purchased a seat.  Which does get me a valid Amyumi PDF Converter driver for ARM.  However install still fails with Sage.  If I work around by creating my own printer using the new Amyuni 650 ARM driver and name it Sage 100 PDF Converter it does trick sage into thinking it has the driver.  If I Electronic deliver an invoice for instance it opens a dialog box to pick a location to save the file.  Which it does generate.  But does not complete the process through sage.

    Hello David,

    I make NO representation that this will work on an ARM based system or on your version of Sage 100.

    Any version prior to Sage 100 2019 this will not work.

    To use the purchased driver key and process Sage Paperless Office PDF documents you will need to modify the sota.ini on the workstation.

    Add the following section to the SOTA.INI after the [Config] section.

    [Paperless]
    Name=XXXXXXXXXXXXX
    Driver=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    Printer=Sage 100 PDF Converter
    Version=6.5

    Name = the user name for the purchased license
    Driver = the key Amyuni provided
    Printer = Sage 100 PDF Converter
    Version = the version of the driver you purchased

    I will give it a try.  And I appreciate your help.  I understand there is no guarantees on this working.  But appreciate all the help regardless.

    Seems like with more windows machines moving to ARM.  And all mac virtualization moving to ARM.  It would be nice to have a solution for this.  So again I will keep up with this and hopefully for future users we come up with something workable.

    Now it says printer not activated error code -41.  I have the username provided by amyuni to it is usernamexxxxx and driver is the serial #: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
