I have reasons, but perhaps you should hear it from the source.  Things may have changed recently.

There are also third-parties who have bridged this gap ( https://www.roi-consulting.com/ ) - I cannot tell if you're looking to commercially develop a sync or if you are trying to get a sync to work incidental to the project of building a website, etc.

Wayne, thank you for responding. We are not looking to develop anything commercially. We need this for a particular product/implementation. A 3rd party connector might be viable if it is reasonably priced. Our store is not much of a moneymaker and is not core to our business, so it’s hard to justify a steep long-term cost.

Although, the SData provider offered by Sage 100 will continue to be supported, it is not expected to be further invested in or enhanced by Sage. It is recommended that the use of BOI (Business Object Interface) is used for integrating with the Sage 100 product

jepritch, thanks for the response. That does seem to be the sense I'm getting. As a Sage partner, is that (SData not being further invested in) something Sage has communicated with you?

Also, are they recommending BOI as the alternative to invest in? It seems that BOI is quite ancient and I'm wondering if there is a newer approach in the works. It seemed like SData was that method at one point.

jepritch (Elliott) is a Sage employee, not a partner.

BOI is the backbone of all Sage 100 processes.

Kevin M, Ah, I see that he is a Sage employee now. I wasn't looking at the right place.

jepritch, I'll mark your response as the answer. Since it looks like BOI is the way forward, would you or maybe someone else at Sage be able to comment on this post?

twc, Bret is a colleague of mine at Sage and he or I will make sure the forum is aware of his progress of adding a library of base functionality for BOI.   He has a lot of background working with BOI on several internal projects so I know what he comes up with will be of great help.
