Split Sales order with a script

SOLVED

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has been able to split a sales order into two separate orders based on line information using a script. Would something like that be feasible?

    Feasible?  Yes... but why?

One of our customers has legal restrictions of who can handle different types of inventory items, so DSD did some custom programming to "split" a Master SO into Standard SO based on the product type (where imported orders all come in as a Master)... but I expect you'd be able to script something similar, with a bit of effort.

So we have two warehouse in SAGE that are processing the same order and these are being split manually now by our CS dept. Instead of having CS do the manual work I'd like to do it by script. I just need an example to play with.

So the real issue is not being able to have the two warehouses invoice their portion of the SO without conflicting with each others work?  That is a problem.

Perhaps use the Copy From function, then add a couple simple button scripts to "remove lines for warehouse ###" to speed up the copy / cleanup process?

The problem with trying to do it all in a script is all the fields you need to deal with... one by one.  Unless you can script the "Copy From" function, which I'm not sure is possible.  (If you have UDF's, check tab 3 for data flow for SO to SO...).

Thanks for input Kevin. I will try to figure out another way to do this.

We actually do this for a few of our clients that need to split orders based on warehouse's but we do it through a master developer MOD. If you are still in need of this functionality i would be happy to speak with you about it more!

    Thanks,
