Is there a way to set a Date field to Blank?   

On a detail form when entering a new line the custom date field is blank.     They must enter a date within a certain range.  This range set on the Header level.   The script works fine for checking and sending a warning message to the user if not in the correct range, but I'd like to blank out the date field after the message.  I can set it to, for instance, 1/1/1900, but I'd like to make it blank again if possible.
