Sage Alerts & Workflow v10 w/providex

SUGGESTED

Has anyone used Sage Alerts & Workflow v10 w/Sage 100 providex yet?

When I try to add a calculated column, the top where it says calculations to perform is blank and I can't choose a calculation. If try to do it manually whatever calculation I receive an error. I contacted support and they said dev is working on a solution to link via SQL but until that is ready, they recommend installing V9 onto the system where Version 10 is installed and use the V9 KLF until they get the new linking. But now instead of installing v9 they said there's this new standalone KLF which I downloaded and I'm trying to use but when linking I'm getting an error: Unable to Link table:AP_Vendor 91 Object variable or With block variable not set.

Version 10 already has a feature to create a linked server through the Sage Alerts web portal. The linked server is created in the SQL Server instance where you have Sage Alerts installed. Sage Alerts support should have told you this, however, this part of the manual is very conflicting.

If you read the 2.13 section of the manual, it explains how to set up the linked server.

I setup a linked server in SQL and am using it that way. I wouldn't mess with any v9 stuff.

For some reason the v10 KLF standalone did not work for me but the v9 one did. SAW support recommended not to use the linked server through the web portal until they get the providex to sql piece working because they don't know what will have to be redone after they get it up and running.

That is strange, i've implemented v10 twice now and both times were for ProvideX version of Sage 100 and i set up the linked server through the web portal.

You do need to make sure you set up your system level DSNs correctly though using the ProvideX driver to point to each company that you will be accessing. You then point the linked server to the new system DSN. You have to add a linked server for each company that you plan to monitor.
