Error Opening Excel

We recently upgraded a client from 2014 to 2016.2.  There are 2 workstations that get an error when opening Excel that points to a Sage Intelligence file.  Sage Intelligence is not set up at this client.  I have uninstalled workstation setup, verified that there are no Sage Intelligence Programs or folders left on the workstation, rebooted the workstation and reinstalled workstation setup and the update and still get the error below.

Has anyone seen this error?  Do you know how to resolve?  I can't find anything in the KB.  This user has a Windows 7 32-bit workstation running Office 2010.

Thanks,

Well, it looks like my screenshot didn't make it. The error reads:

'c:\Program Files\Common Files\BIExcelFunctions\32bit\Sage.BI.ExcelFunction.xll' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct. If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted.

Sage Intelligence is automatically installed on all workstations, it just isn't necessarily licensed. So the add-ins are installed in Excel regardless of the use of SI. When I've seen errors like the one you reference, it is normally because the user doesn't have appropriate permissions, or the workstation wasn't installed under an administrator login.

Try going to the Excel options | add-ins on both the working machine and the non-working machine and compare.

Note that if the workstation isn't licensed, the spreadsheet probably isn't going to work anyway. If someone who isn't licensed wants to look at the spreadsheet, you will have to publish a copy of the worksheet that doesn't have the formulas.
