Actually I found that the discrepancy comes from the fact we did not ultimately complete the number that was 'planned' on the work order? (i.e. 'planned' 6000, but only issued material for 4000, and 'completed' 4000).  But just not sure why the resulting WIP transactions work out the way we do if we ultimately only issues parts for 4000 and completed 4000 of the finished good?

0 scrap, 100% yield.  I think this is the issue (related to qty planned/vs completed).  The settings for this particular work order match the below scenario.

Work orders created when Automatic is selected in the Issue Method field use the work order percent complete amount to allocate the costs updated to the work in process accrual account before the completion entry is recorded. This method leaves a zero balance in the work in process accrual account when the last completion entry for the work order is recorded.
