Can an Inventory Depletion be Linked to the Receipt???

First off, our ultimate goal is to look at an Invoice in AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader and Detail and know what the Landed Cost is.  The Purchase Order Module's History Files does a pretty good job of tracking Landed Cost History by Receipt Number.  However, if you are trying to analyze Cost of Goods you should be more concerned with what you Invoiced than what you Received.  Hence, we are trying to look at AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader and Detail but at that point we lose all Landed Cost information.  If Sage 100 could tell us what Receipt Number(s) any given Invoice depleted from we would be "golden."

Any of you smart people out there have an idea to help us out?

Thanks!

Adam

  • If you are using Lot / Serial valuation, it might be possible, depending on how complicated your business processes are (i.e. manufacturing transactions add links to trace back through...).

If using FIFO, LIFO, Average, or Standard valuation, it is not possible to do the tracing.  The data simply does not exist.

  • We are FIFO/LIFO...I should have mentioned that.

Thanks Kevin...kind of what I thought but sometimes I like verification.

  • Adam, that is not possible because when posted the cost is posted as a single figure.  You can only see the break out in the IM_ItemCost file.  As Kevin says, the data does not exist.
