Sage Intelligence has a Distribution tool where you can email the report.

You can us the Windows Task Scheduler to gen the report every night and email it to the Customer.

I find SI to be incredibly awkward, especially for non-financial reports.  With a Crystal Report tool like Sage Alerts or Visual Cut I could do this kind of report setup in about an hour.

Problem with CR is the output to Excel is garbage.

Not if you design the report with export to Excel in mind... there are even techniques to handle sub-report output to Excel nicely (which used to crash the export attempt in older versions of CR)... but I didn't see any reference to needing Excel output in this question.

Can you filter the report after you send it to Excel?

I've built dozens of Non Financials using SI. Customers love the output when compared to CR.

Lots of things are possible, depending on the the report design strategies and tool you use for the export / emailing.  For complex drill-down / filtering / sorting of data, I like this:

It doesn't handle huge data sets, but for the simplicity / cost it is absolutely amazing, and Excel is not required... entirely browser based.
