Period End - multiple years need to be closed

SOLVED

I have a situation where Period End Processing has NOT been done in over 10 years. I am trying to get things cleaned up. Is there a way to close multiple years without having to close out each module for each period for over 10 years? That would be 120 PE closings to do. I appreciate any insight you might have about this.

(My comments pertain to new-framework modules only... if you are running an older version with old-framework modules, like WO,  period-end considerations may be different).

    • Don't run the reports as part of Period End.  Do that separately (if you need them).
    • Double-check the "years to retain" settings in all module option screens.  These purges happen during period end processing, and there is no "undo"... short of restoring a full data backup.
    • There is also a GL option for resetting journal / register numbers which should be disabled.
    • Take an archive company copy as a general good idea, and to save any history that will be purged.
    • Run the DTR from the GL module to ensure nothing is half-posted.
    • You may be able to skip to period 12, run period end to change the year, then skip to period 12 again...  This specifically does not apply to old-framework modules, which handles period end very differently.
      • You'll want to reconcile GL to module TB reports at least yearly... ideally monthly.
    • There is a Sage Help article on the order to close the different modules.  (3rd in this list for me): https://help-sage100.na.sage.com/2021/index.htm#search-period%20end
