Click-to-Pay, Personal Information Encryption, and Lot/Serial Expiry: Introducing Sage 100cloud 2020.0

3 minute read time.

Great things are happening in Sage 100cloud.

Our 2019.0 release was our biggest in more than 4 years with more than 30 new enhancements. Last year we released new modules for production management and inventory requirements planning, as well as a mobile shop floor app.  And in 2019 we were recognized as a market leader by G2 Crowd in both accounting and ERP categories.

Based on research from Forrester, we know that there is a need for cloud-connected business management software, and we are confident that the feature-richness and customizability that have earned Sage 100cloud its trusted reputation are as relevant today as they have ever been.

Many growing businesses are looking for ways to leverage the power of the cloud without sacrificing the benefits of an on-premise application.  In our 2020.0 release of Sage 100cloud, we focused on extending the cloud-connected feature-set, making it easier to customize, improving the user experience, and delivering market-leading tools to support compliance.  A complete list of features in this release may be found in our What’s New Document, and we have posted an overview video to Sage University, but here are a few features from this release that we are particularly excited about and that are exclusively available to our Sage 100cloud subscription customers:

eInvoicing with Paya Connect

By combining click-to-pay functionality with a customer portal, eInvoicing via Paya Connect allows businesses to (1) increase cash-flow by removing friction from payment processing, (2) save time through payment automation, and (3) improve the customer experience through access to a self-service payment portal. Customers expect an easy, personalized, and intuitive solution. eInvoicing means spending less time collecting payments and more time on growing your business.

Check Run Reversal

If you’ve ever processed a check run with the wrong information, you’ll know how much time and manual effort can be required to walk it back. This new utility in Accounts Payable will automate the reversal of checks or electronic payments created via the Check Printing and Electronic Payment Menu.

Lot/Serial Expiry

Expiration dates can now be added for items with lot or serial numbers when items are received into inventory or produced through Bill of Materials. This is a very important feature for manufacturers, distributors and retailers who deal with food and beverage, chemicals, medical equipment, and many other item types. This is the first phase of our lot / serial journey. Lot / serial tracking is coming soon.

Personal Information Encryption

States are increasingly requiring companies to ‘forget’ business contacts. The California Consumer Privacy Act is just the first example of many.  While compliance is possible using existing features in Sage 100, a new utility makes it far easier to comply with privacy legislation.

In addition to these features, our 2020.0 release also includes support for international addresses, expanded name fields, the ability to place multiple purchase orders on a single receipt, and updates to help comply with ASC 606 / IFRS 15 Work in Progress (WIP) requirements.  We have also enhanced the usability of the Custom Office module by allowing users to save pending changes to user defined fields so that they can edit them over multiple sessions and even schedule updates in Task Scheduler. A new user interface in Custom Office will make grid creation a delight.

There’s a lot more to come in 2020 for Sage 100cloud.  To see the new features in action and to learn more about where Sage 100cloud is headed, please be sure to register for our upcoming webinar: The Road Ahead for Sage 100cloud version 2020.0 and Beyond.
