TimeSlips 2010 license discrepancy

SUGGESTED

We have a client using TimeSlips 2010.  It reports 6 user licenses, but they are entitled to 16.  If we were able to obtain the original installation key, how would we go about updating the license count to 16?  Would it require re-installing TimeSlips?

Thanks!

This TS server was indeed moved.  We have gone through their documentation and it appears they added 6 users to the original installation and it may have been installed using the code from just the 6 user addition?

From what we can see, they originally had 7, then added 6, but that is all we have documentation for; though, they have confirmation from Sage that they are entitled to 16.  If we could get them to 13, that would be a great step, though.

I posted here hoping someone would be able to dig up a memory of this from their past knowing we are way past the support date of this product.

    Thanks!

If you still have access to the old server, just copy the Timeslip.CFG file from the old server and replace the one on the new server. That should be all you need. I don't see any reason to completely reinstall anything.

Then, launch, confirm 16, and generate a reinstall code for next time. ;-)

    Excellent idea Nancy.

Once you do that, make a note of the reinstallation codes so that you have them should you ever need them in the future.

We were able to bring their old server back online, and it also shows 6 users.  I am assuming they moved this once before and installed using the 6 user additional license?  Can that happen?

I also don't see an option under Help to Add licenses.

Not really.  It should have said, something like " these are add on licenses, you cannot use them to initially install, only to add." I am paraphrasing.

SUPPOSEDLY, Sage will give you a copy of your original install codes that you are entitled to. But I've had lots of folks say that when they called in Sage would not talk to them.  Sooooooo.....

If you would like to email me the documentation you have re: licenses, I'd be happy to take a look and see if I can help. Especially any sort of confirmation from Sage that they have 16.

Please do not post your serial number or anything specific to your licensing here in on the bulletin board.
