flat fee

SUGGESTED

Good morning,

We have our first matter that we are charging a flat fee rather than per hour.  I was able to set up the matter in Timeslips (version 2018) for the flat fee (Arrangements: Absolute flat fee) and I changed the billing rates for all attorneys to zero.  What I can't seem to figure out is how to prevent the Professional Services Summary section not to list billable hourly rates and amounts.  I like that it totals their hours, but don't like the other two columns (rate and amount).  I don't see this section in my template at all, how do I amend?

Thanks,
Lindsay

    Lindsay:

Congratulations on finding and setting up the Absolute Flat Fee.

However, it is not necessary to change the hourly rates at all.  Indeed, if you do, then you won't get accurate ACTUAL investment vs the flat fee amount to know if you made a profit charging the flat fee.

It is entirely possible to take off the hours rate and amount columns in the Summary by editing the bill layout.  You just need to find the summary section and choosing Options, then ticking off what you want to show.

    Worked!  Thank you!

On a separate but related note...Do you offer a Timeslips online course where I can learn some of these additional features?  I'm pretty familiar with the program if everything is status quo but once I need to customize, I am in the dark.

    Thanks!

    , why YES! WinkThumbsup

Only not so much classes or a course, as much as just one on one sessions where we go over whatever the user needs covered.  That way we only cover what they are interested in knowing. Usually use a remote desktop tool to log in and work on it together over the phone.   No need to physically travel there.  Works pretty well for most folks.
