Ledes 2000

SOLVED

I was told by Bottomline electronic billing service that Ledes 2000 allows entry of client credits (as opposed to payments) to be transmitted directly through Ledes. Currently using Ledes 1998b, if there is a client credit to reduce the amount the client owes, then it has to be done manually once you upload to Bottomline.

During a phone training last year, the tech was not familiar with how to do this in Timeslips.

I have the template set up in Timeslips to use (i already use 1998b, every month) but i set up the Ledes 2000 and no where is it clear how to enter a credit. Anyone familiar with this?

Thank you!

If you were to use a Billing Arrangement and adjust the total charges for the bill, the number would populate in the LEDES 2000 export file.  Note that the data vendor you upload the data to, must allow use of LEDES 2000 for that billing partner. I have not hard that Bottomline was permitting that format, but this may be new information.

Yes the standard exists, and yes the functionality is there.  Whether you can use it - pardon the pun - is the 'bottom line'.
