Create Ledes98 file after invoice is approved

SUGGESTED

Hi, I hope somebody can help.

I have a client with some old unpaid invoices and now they are implementing Legal exchange for billing. Is there a way I can convert those PDF invoices that are already approved (3 years ago) to Ledes98 without having to manually make them again to then import to Ledes? I use Timeslips 2018.

Any advice would be appreciated.

No, not really.  You cannot convert from PDF to LEDES.

But you should not have to go back and redo a three year old invoice for the new LEDES implementation. I would push back on that.  That's ridiculous.

If you decide you do need to do that, then my advise would be to see how many entries we are talking about.  You can "redo" the old invoices in a COPY of your database.  If it is a few slips, just copy/rekey them, but if it is a lot of slips, I would export and import them.

If it has been three years and you are just now getting LEDES requirements, I would highly doubt that those old slips were coded with the ABA Task Codes and will need to be edited to be coded.

Do you already have the electronic billing add on to create LEDES files?

Hi! Yes, I currently use Ledes with other clients. I want to try one more time to collect my money but using their new program. I know I can 'redo' old invoices and upload them but its gonna take me forever and I if I export import I would have to add the codes Disappointed

, yep, that sounds accurate.  Only you can decide if you want to pursue it.
