Sending invoices via email

SOLVED

I've posted here before and haven't been able to resolve this issue. I have TS installed on two computers, lets say A and B. Computer A has not changed and we can send invoices via email. Computer B the profile changed after the computer was replaced. After installing all the apps we can't get invoices to send from Computer B. Computer B does 99% of billing and accounting where Computer A does not, really just used to enter time. It's a huge inconvenience to send invoices via Computer A. Question I have is where do I look on Computer A to replicate the email configuration to setup on Computer B?

It's really an outlook issue. Do both computers have the same version of Outlook? Does computer B have multiple email accounts? Timeslips needs you to have an outlook profile that only has one email account. You can set up a second profile with just one account and open that before you email bills.

I suspect you will find the issue in the Outlook Profile.  Is it set to use more than one email account?  I.e., send and retrieve email for more than one account?

Does the new machine have the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office?

Hi Nancy, I made sure it has the 32 bit version, the original Outlook installation was using 64. I believe it does have more than one Outlook profile. My understanding with Outlook was that TS used the default Outlook profile. If I understand this different now you mean Outlook can only have one profile. Is this correct? If so than this is likely the issue. I'll have to remove the additional accounts and figure out to configure multiple email accounts under one profile. I believe I can configure groups in Office 365 which will allow one profile and the user to view the additional emails in groups. Your thoughts?

Hi Caren, agree it appears to be Outlook, please see my previous reply to Nancy and let me know your thoughts. Thank you. I'm not sure what you mean by this, "You can set up a second profile with just one account and open that before you email bills."

It's not a matter of the profile, it's a matter of a profile with only one email account in it. I haven't found that depending on the "default" profile works as well as opening a profile with only one email account prior to trying to email bills.

Setting up Outlook profiles is something best done by your IT person.

    , read Caren's posts carefully.

I would make sure your DEFAULT profile only has one email account in it.

You can have more than one profile. So a second profile might have more than one email account in it. BUT you will want to be logged into the DEFAULT one when you try to send the bills.

We have (by trial and error) found this to be the most reliable method.

I have a similar issue with Timeslips 2018. Just 2 weeks ago out of the blue it began having issues creating/sending the invoice or statement emails after approval.  I run Microsoft Office 2018/Outlook and Windows 10. (i'm pretty sure that's correct and that it's the 64-bit version).  I have made no changes to the computer or programs at all.  Thinking it was some background update that caused a tweak.  I do not have any support plan so at a loss as to how to find out answers.
