2019 Timeslips License purchase from third party vendor?

SUGGESTED

Have a client who upgraded to 2019 a few months ago roughly 1 week before 2020 was available; they have 18 licenses.

Now that the August 1, 2019 deadline has passed to buy a license from the direct sales channel, they find they need 1 more license. They are told they need to upgrade for that license. Since they just upgraded and they are still unhappy that they were sold the 2019, at great expense, without being told that a new version was a week away, they are beyond not happy.

I understand that there are channel and third part sales available. Has anyone used a particular vendor, the prices seem to fluctuate significantly. Please let me know. BTW Timeslips people who make decisions, seems that a tiered upgrade based on year purchased would be more fair. Forcing a company to upgrade 6 months after upgrading is infuriating...Just saying....

Hey , I am one of those "channel and third part sales" folks. ;-)

I think you got a sales person who didn't quite give you accurate information. As long as a version is "supported," then you should be able to add a license.  My information shows that v2019 is still supported, so we should be able to get you just the one additional one.  Let me know if you would like a quote via email below.  (I am at a CLE conference today, so email is the best way to reach me.)

Now, once v2019 rolls off support, then the information that you got is correct.  The firm would have to upgrade to be able to add licenses.  So, you might also want to think about adding a few spare licenses to give the firm some elbow room to grow over the next few years.  Depends on how much they are growing/plan to grow.
