Sage Exchange

SUGGESTED

I am trying to used sage exchange as part of my Sage 50 assignment.  I have downloaded the sage exchange desktop but I can not get it to open and run with the sage 50 program to process credit card payments.  Any suggestions?  I have tried turning off all my protection such as virus protect, windows firewall and windows defender.

Are you using Sage 50 Canada or Sage 50 US?

    Thanks,

Ok, based on this I will move your post to the Students Forum for Canadian Software.

Good morning K. Weller, after downloading the Sage exchange desktop service did you set it up in Sage 50 by going to Setup > Settings > Company > Credit Card, used/accepted?  In order to enable services, a merchant ID needs to be entered in the Processing Services section (not sure if your book provided one) generally this is a paid service. The Student version wouldn't have the function enabled for fully processing credit cards via the Sage Virtual Terminal.

See the sample company for the below settings:

After settings are set you can create invoices and or receipts, using a credit card as a payment method.

Note that selecting a payment method straight away in the invoice screen other than "pay later" will "pay" the invoice (you won't need to create a receipt).

With the student version you should be able to do the above. If SPS service isn't enabled for your account you would get a Customer Profile that looks like this:

    Hey Erzsi,

I am having this exact problem with the 2019 student version and I have the screen that you stated "If SPS service isn't enabled for your account you would get a Customer Profile that looks like this". I'm trying to do an assignment and I can't get this to work. I did the set up exactly as outlined above but still nothing.

    Thanks,

    Elsa

    Hi

Something important to note is that Sage sold SPS in 2019 and now only the Paya service integrates with Sage 50 CA. The setup for the service on this KB. Don't believe there's free testing of this service unless your book includes a Merchant ID to test with.

    2020 setup looks like this:

To recap, SPS would be retired and no longer accessible to connect.

Hope this helps! - if needed keep this thread for showing your teacher.

    Warm Regards,
