Missed Deduction Report

SUGGESTED

Hello, is there a Missed Deduction Report available that shows employees that do not have enough earnings to cover their deductions (which would result in a negative check)?

There is no canned report that shows missed deductions.

When calculating payroll, I select the process of “All Checks”. If an employee does not have enough earnings to cover deductions (in other words a negative check), the employee will appear on the Payroll Processing Exception report. In the example below, I paid an employee one hour of regular pay so his deductions are greater than his earnings. The Payroll Processing Exceptions Report looks as follows:

     Payroll Processing Exceptions

Please note that this report is not limited to this one type of exception. For example, it can show where a deduction end date has passed, if an earning/deduction pay frequency was not selected, when max. carry-over is reached, a new accrual period and more.

The Payroll Processing Exceptions Report is an SAP Crystal Report. You can reach out to your Channel Partner or implementer to have this report customized so it only shows certain types of exceptions.

Normally I do not want to process payroll with a negative check, so after I have processed payroll for “All Checks”, reviewed the Payroll Processing Exceptions Report and made any necessary changes, I will re-run Calculate Payroll and select the Process “Ignore Negative Checks”. Please note that this is my personal preference. How customers calculate payroll may differ by customer.

Thank you very much!  I will try running this report as you suggested!
