Import employee data

Is there a tool to import new employee data into HR tables from a CSV file? i know in timesheet area there's a hidden right click menu to import.  Just curious if there's a way to do that on the Employee HR side?

    You can use the Sage HRMS Link available on the Sage HRMS Logon Page.  Click the drop down box beside Live Data to see this option.  Once you are inside the link, from the menu bar select File > New Template.  Once the template has been created, from the menu bar select Import/Export > Import ASCII File into Sage HRMS.

    Make sure to have a SQL backup prior to importing any information.

    Thank you, how do you get it to assign an employee ID?  i put the Employee ID field on my template.  Do you have to know what the next available number is and manually fill that in on your import file?

    Correct.  You will have to know what the employee ID will be and include that in your source (import) file.  It is very important not to use an employee ID that already exists for that company.  If it does exist, in the master table hrpersnl, it will overwrite existing data for that record.  In non master tables, it will append (add to the table).
