It could be a couple of things. If it is a percentage based 401k/Roth, is the bonus code part of the calculation basis? Check this in the deduction code setup under the Calc Base tab.

Also, it could be the frequency of the bonus vs 401k. If they have different frequencies, for example, 401k is Float and Bonus is Quarterly, you will need to check off the frequency that is used by both codes when you calculate payroll.

Our 401K is set to float and the bonus is set to 22 per year. I don't know what to select for float. It isn't an option:

Float is the employees pay frequency. So, for example, if they are bi-weekly you would check bi-weekly.

Won't this cause all of the other deductions to come through as well? I only want ot have the 401K and taxes.

On the timecard, if you checked "Print a Separate Check" it will not. One thing to note is that you will need to change the "Process" drop-down menu on the calculate payroll screen and choose "Ignore Zero and Negative Checks"
