Update: New pay data requirements for EEO-1 reporting due Sept. 30, 2019

Update: September 6: EEO -1 Component 2 Compensation Data - for 2017 and 2018 must be reported by September 30, 2019

For our customers with only Human Resources implemented:  A file import of the payroll data will be required, the Template Instructions and Import Template can be found within the Knowledgebase Article ID 97142.

Note: The template instructions and Import Template applies for both Sage Abra Suite 9.2 and Sage HRMS 2017.

For all Sage HRMS and Sage Abra Suite customers that uses the software for Human Resources and Payroll an update is available, which will include the new EEO-1 Component 2 changes.

To access the hotfix, you can login to Sage Knowledgebase and enter Knowledgebase Article ID listed below (please make sure that you select the correct Article ID based on the current version that you are running of the software.)

Within the zip file that you will download from the Knowledgebase will include the following:

  1. Files needed to apply the hotfix
  2. ReadMe File (please read the readme file prior to installing the files)
  3. How to create EEO-1 Component 2 Reports

Update: August 1: For our customers with only Human Resources implemented:  A file import of the payroll data will be required.  Our Sage HRMS and Sage Abra Suite customers will be provided a template to import the payroll data (as required by the specifications). The specifications of the file will be released on Monday, 8/5/2019. You will need to contact your payroll provider and ensure the data required for the EEO-1 component 2 report can be exported from the payroll product (for 2017 and 2018). Inform your payroll provider that Sage will be providing a template for the import of the payroll data that will meet the requirements of the final efiling specifications from the government.

For all Sage HRMS and Sage Abra Suite customers an update will be released by 09/06/2019 which will include all of the new EEO-1 changes.

Update July 12:  We have received the electronic reporting specifications and are currently working on the coding aspects to include EE0-1 Component 2 in our application.  We will continue to post significant updates as a separate post so that the updates are not missed. 

The EEO-1 Component 2 must be electronically filed.  Our goal is to ensure customers are able to electronically file in a timely manner; this remains a priority to deliver as soon as possible upon receipt of the final specifications.  We are watching daily for final specifications for the e-filing criteria; this crucial and final criteria has not been published as of today.  On receipt, we will review the specifications and begin working on the coding aspects. 

For our Sage HRMS or Sage Abra Suite payroll customers, the payroll data will be available for Sage to prepare the report that will meet the requirements for electronically filing.

For our customers with only Human Resources implemented:  At this time, plans are to deliver an import feature.  Our Sage HRMS and Sage Abra Suite customers will be provided a template to import the payroll data (as required by the specifications).    You may want to contact your payroll provider and ensure the data required for the EEO-1 component 2 report can be exported from the payroll product (for 2017 and 2018).    Inform your payroll provider that Sage will be providing a template for the import of the payroll data that will meet the requirements of the final efiling specifications from the government.

  • According to the EEOC - . Latest Update: 7/11/2019 - Component 2 EEO-1 Upload File Layout Specifications and an accompanying Excel File for 2017 and 2018 are now available in the More Info and Additional References section. Please note that the secure file upload function and validation process is expected to be available by mid-August 2019.
