Sample import template in My Workforce Analyzer is causing error when uploading in Sage HRMS 2017 and Sage Abra Suite

Sage HRMS customers, it has been brought to our attention that the sample import template within the Help menu for My Workforce Analyzer is causing errors uploading.  The requirements have changed regarding the middle name being included.  A new template has been added to the help menu that has three columns for first, middle and last name.  This hot fix addresses the error while importing when the middle name has a null value issue.

The hotfix can be found in KB article 95393.  The article references both Sage HRMS 2017 and Sage Abra Suite.  Please download the hot fix that applies to the version of the software application that you are using.

The hotfix will be rolled into the Q4 2018 SR2 release scheduled for delivery the second week of February, 2019.

  • This is only a partial fix to a bigger data issue that should be captured when you attempt to print/efile when reporting your 1094/1095C. See Better Error Message Capture When Printing to Aatrxi When Using ACA Reporting in the Sage HRMS->Human Resources Ideas. Also, the Support KB needs to have an article on to trouble shoot this error as the MWA data is bad and will let you continue on until its fixed. I provided steps on the find that data that is causing problems.

Why is this not appearing in the product messages board on the Sage HRMS home page?

Nick - what Error Messages are you referring to?

  • in reply to Jameson55

Unhandled Exception Index was out of range Must be non-negative and less than size of the collection when clicking on the print/efile for the 1094/1095c forms.

Here's the answer from the Sage Knowledgebase - let me know if you need any help with this.

    Sage HRMS 2017
    Sage HRMS

    • Unable to access any Aatrix Forms
    • Unable to access Aatrix
    • Error loading Aatrix Form
    • Cannot access Government Reports after upgrade
    • MWA Print/Efile function failure
    • Error selecting Print/efile button
    • Unhandled exception index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than size of the collection

The Sage HRMS installer is not installing Aatrix files in c:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\Sage Accpac\TaxFiling

    1. Upon the HRMS application server access the 'PAYROLL' folder within the Sage HRMS 'CLIENT' folder
    2. Run the 'Sage_Payroll_Tax_Forms_and_EFiling_by_Aatrix.msi' and select uninstall
    3. Verify that the 'TAXFILING' folder exists within the windows path on the workstation with the client install trying to access aatrix 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\Sage Accpac'
    4. If it does not exist, copy this folder from a functioning machine
    5. Use the 'Sage_Payroll_Tax_Forms_and_EFiling_by_Aatrix.msi' to reinstall the Aatrix payroll module

Note: This solution applies to Sage HRMS 2016, Sage HRMS 2015 and Sage HRMS 2017 only.

    Additional information

If the TAXFILING folder is already present, but this error is still generating after uninstalling and reinstalling 'Sage_Payroll_Tax_Forms_and_EFiling_by_Aatrix.msi' there may be a corruption in the TAXFILING folder.

If there is a machine on the network with working Aatrix forms, copy the TAXFILING folder from this machine.

Uninstall 'Sage_Payroll_Tax_Forms_and_EFiling_by_Aatrix.msi' from the machine with the error. Rename the TAXFILING folder on this machine to OLD_TAXFILING, then replace with the TAXFILING folder from the working machine. Reinstall 'Sage_Payroll_Tax_Forms_and_EFiling_by_Aatrix.msi'

It is a great article to send to someone if you want to waste their time and get them really mad when working on the 1094/105-c reporting...….  Please read my thread as detailed this issue and gave a solution. (See Better Error Message Capture When Printing to Aatrxi When Using ACA Reporting in the Sage HRMS->Human Resources Ideas)

I had a client run into the same error and what seems to be the most likely case is that you corrupted your filing by using the old import format and it's probably best to start over. To test you can copy/rename the .acax file and folder in the ACAReporting folder that corresponds to your filing, generate a new filing using the wizard and confirm whether or not the new filing gets that error.

The couple of cases that I had to deal with and assist was generated from the MWA wizard where it produced the bad data. I had to export the files out of MWA to determine where the bad employee records were at.

Nick - I would never send this article to a client as I agree- it will only frustrate and/or confuse them and frankly, it may not be the only/best solution.  As a Sage Business Partner, I would simply use it as reference when assisting someone when processing their ACA forms.  This is one of the many solutions I have found that I use when working to resolve MWA or Aatrix issues.  For the most part, the errors we have seen were easily resolved for both our HRMS and Abra Suite clients.  I will see if I can locate and read your thread for more detail about your specific issue, but in the meantime, please feel free reach out to me privately if you wish to discuss this further.
