defaulting site for non-managed goods

SUGGESTED

I'm having an issue as the product-site is not defaulting on the PO line but rather it is defaulting the financial site.  I have a specific site linked to items that are not-managed (for reporting purposes) but for some reason the site is not being defaulted on the PO line.  It defaults the financial site and when use the selection the site I want isn't displayed.  I can manually add the site but I want this to be automatic so users to not leave the financial site.  Any ideas?

thanks

    Hi Christine,

The Purchase Orders function will always default the receiving site on a line to site that the PO is being raised against, although this isn't necessarily the Financial site, that depends on the site setup.

Have you tried setting the receiving site on the header to the correct site? The Financial site will be set according to the site setup, so any journals posted, etc. originating from the Purchase Order will be posted to the correct site, but the lines will default to the PO site.

One of the reasons the site you are looking for doesn't appear when browsing for the site on the line is the browse will be initially filtered by the contents of the receiving site field. Clearing the value before clicking the browse will display all sites linked to the company that the header site belongs to.

    Best regards,

Nick- thanks for your reply.  If I change the PO site on the header it will default on the line however I want the financial site to remain on the header but have the product-site default on the line.  I think the reason the financial site defaults on the line is because the service product and the product-site are set up as not-managed so the system will not point to the product-site record to default the site.   I should have mentioned in my initial question that these are non-managed products or products for services so there is no inventory.   It is just that we have configured these service products to go to a separate site and do not want to use the financial site.  thanks again for help.  Christine
