currently when use the selection to locate the desired unit of measure on the sales order it displays the short description. How can I change so the description displays the long description of the unit of measure?
If my understanding is correct you just want the Sales Order line to display the unit of measure and the long description. To do this you can go to Development/Script dictionary/Screens and select your relevant sales order screen code (it will be one of the SOH4 Abbr. options)
Find the SAU (Sales Unit) field and change the Link column drop down to Long:
Save and Validate the screen.
The Sales order line will now display the sales unit of measure and the long description:

thank you for reply however I wasn't clear in my post- I was referring to the selection of the SAU field on the SO line.
when you click the magnifying glass to view the sales unit selections the description is using the short description. We would like to see the long description display.
