Have you checked out the blog: Understanding Dimension Types and Analytical Dimensions in Enterprise Management (Part IV) ? This goes into setting up restriction codes. 

If this doesn't help, what version and patch level are you on? Could you share print screens of your setup? What is the significance of the code in tables 321 and 322?

Thank you, that did help, and I have now managed to create some active restrictions against one of my account codes.  However, I cannot seem to create restrictions against any other account (which would have a different set of dimension restrictions).  There is no ''new'' option, and if i select another account from the left list, it adds it to my existing restriction (which is incorrect, as I would like to restrict different dimensions against this different account).  Any suggestions??

For each different set of dimensions you will need to add a new code. For your setup here, you can add all the accounts that are prohibited form being used with that set of dimensions.
