Sage X3 V11 Autoamtic Journal (GLCO) - Post line company as dimension

Posted By FormerMember

Good afternoon.

With the need of one of my clients on posting inter-company journal entry.

During post inter-company journal entry, "inter-company NA10/ NA011" or "Inter-company NA10" will display on the description field of counterpart of the transaction.

My client would like to put the company into a dimension therefore each counterpart of the transaction will show which company it comes from.

So what I do is:

1. Create New Dimension type: COM

2. Add All company code as dimension value: NA10, NA20, DE10,....

3.Modify the Automatic journal as picture shown below

However, when I test posting the inter-company entry NOTHING is posted in the COM Dimension field. And I've tried to place the same formula in "Free Reference"Field in Formulas Tab and it works and show the Company code. The Dimension does not show anything even I hard-code "NA10" in to the formula...

Does anyone also face similar problem on dimensions in automatic journal? Please give me some suggestion

Thanks

Eric

    Hi Eric,

Not sure if you've found a solution to this, but i've come across the exact same issue.

I think the problem is that, unless you put a dimension on the entry lines in the Intercompany journal, you don't actually create an entry in the GACCINTCPYA table, which is what the dimensions types / dimensions tab looks at in Line 2 of the automatic journal.

I've added the COM dimension to all accounts, and it now seems to derive as expected.

If anyone's got a cleaner way of doing this (as you end up having to put a COM value on all journal lines, not just the intercompany ones) - please let us both know.

    Cheers,

    Carl
