You say 2020 R2, I say 12.0.22: tying together the V12 version naming conventions

Less than one minute read time.

You have probably noticed that the v12 versions are referred to in two different ways: Year/Release # and Numerical. As you see in the Online help center’s What’s new tab below, the Release Notes title lists both v12.0.22 is also referred to as 2020 R2. Some of us old timers refer to it as v12p22.

The question was asked if there is a place they could easily find what Year/Release # = what Numerical version.

If you click on the release notes in the Online help center and click the Year/Release #, it will display the numerical version.  In the example below, I clicked 2019 R4 in the left list and it shows the Version 12.0.19

For quick reference, I have created a little table that ties the Year/Release # to the Numeric version as of May 2020.

To view the most current version of the table going forward, see Sage knowledgebase article #105004: Tying together the naming conventions for v12 versions.  To access this article, log into https://support.na.sage.com/ and in the search field type 105004. Click Search.
